Charlotte Noel has worked within the independent education sector for over 25 years. As a mother of three small children she became frustrated at the lack of education and school information available for parents and so she launched the successful magazine Independent School Parent www.independentschoolparent.com to deliver the necessary information on finance, medical matters and leisure to provide parents with the tools to get the very best out of their children’s school years. She explains: The magazine filled a gap in the market and was an instant hit with the parents, teachers and advertisers, with top schools such as Eton, Harrow, Cheltenham Ladies’ College and prestigious London day schools all distributing the magazine directly into the parents’ homes.
Through the magazine I became very well known to all the schools and universities by visiting them and meeting their Heads, teachers and pupils to write about the schools and their achievements. I came to understand all the little nuances and features that make each school unique and give the UK an independent education system. It is important to match each child to a school where he or she will fit in, be happy and flourish.
Following the sale of the magazine I worked for Gabbitas www.gabbitas.com in the School Placement Department. After two years I felt that I could provide a high quality and more effective service for my clients as an independent consultant who works only for the client and takes no commission from the schools.
